What is a vaporizer?

Vaporizers are a tool to enjoy a more health-conscious form of imbibing in dry herb or concentrates. Rather than smoking, vaping doesn’t involve burning materials, something often referred to as combustion. Instead, vaporizers use heat to warm materials to high temperatures through either conduction heating, convection heating, or a hybrid of both to vaporize rather than burn materials for a safer and more potent and flavorful experience.

What is Convection Heating?

Convection heating is a type of indirect heating that works on the principal that cool air is drawn in, heated and then passed through the dry herb or concentrate to remove the desired compounds that are then inhaled. Convection heating is more likely to produce thicker clouds while conduction heating tends to be more flavor focused, however this also depends on the vaporizer and its design.

What is Conduction Heating?

Conduction heating uses direct contact to heat materials. Similar to an oven or a kettle, the chamber around the material will heat up rather than using hot airflow, to heat materials to the point of vaporization. Conduction heating tends to be more flavor focused than cloud production focused but this also depends on the design of the vaporizer.

What is Hybrid Heating?

Hybrid heating is a combination of both convection and conduction heating meaning that the chamber the material is placed in will heat up, while warm air will also assist to reach that vaporization point. Hybrid vaporizers tend to produce equally satisfying clouds and flavor without having a focus on either.

Desktop Vaporizers

Desktop Vaporizers tend to be much larger than portable vaporizers and are a little less, well, portable. Desktop vaporizers also typically plug into an outlet and remain in one spot. These vaporizers have a few options for vapor intake such as balloons, bags, or hoses and are often much more powerful than a portable vaporizer.

Portable Vaporizers

Portable Vaporizers are vapes that are ready to go with you almost anywhere. While portable vaporizers vary in size and styles, most are designed to be discreet and easy to travel with. Portable Vaporizers may not be as powerful as desktop vaporizers but some portable devices such as the Mighty+ Vaporizer can still pack a punch similar to that of a desktop vaporizer.
